Houlton sits on Maine’s eastern border with New Brunswick, Canada. The slow-paced town of Houlton appeals to many families seeking a friendly community and a wholesome lifestyle. Northern Maine offers a delightful range of outdoor recreation including camping, hiking, canoeing and fishing in warm seasons, and wintertime activities ranging from snowmobiling and ice fishing to cross country skiing and even dog sledding. Houlton is the seat of Aroostook County, the largest county east of the Mississippi, so amenities such as shopping and dining are plentiful. New Hampshire:

Colebrook: We invite an experienced Primary Care Physician to join a new hospital-owned rural/country primary care practice in picturesque New Hampshire, near the White Mountain National Forest, and close to the Vermont and Canadian borders. Hospitals here pride themselves on a patient-centered culture delivering high-quality, accessible, integrated healthcare with courtesy and respect. Join the medical staff of a 16-bed critical access hospital with heart, and an atmosphere of neighbors helping neighbors, where the teams care deeply about the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of their patients, families and staff. Dedication is a theme here: Most hospital employees were born and raised in the region, and several staff members recently celebrating their 40th work anniversary with the system.

This is an old-school care model as we seek “the” doctor for the entire family in this small community. An ideal candidate will have been in practice for at least a few years and will have an interest in practice leadership. Specialty services are offered through the affiliate hospital and include everything from ENT/Allergy and OB/GYN through Neurology, Surgical Services and more. Join a respected organization named by Modern Healthcare as One of the Best Places to Work in 2020. We seek a physician who is prepared to make a long term commitment and provide stability and continuity for grateful area patients in this underserved community. You will help grow the practice, attracting patients from neighboring towns. While we want a family physician, a doctor with strengths and interests in adult/geriatric medicine is also welcome to provide care for this older panel. Enjoy a convenient weekday schedule with your choice of five shorter days or four longer days. Call is shared on a 1:4 basis. You will be supported by a friendly clinical/administrative team in the office, and involved leadership in the hospital. The IT system is excellent – with an integrated EMR boasting voice recognition/templates ready for your use.

You will earn a very competitive salary with bonus potential and benefits that include a cash starting bonus, paid relocation assistance, paid liability insurance, health and dental insurance, disability and life insurance, a generous amount of paid time off for holidays, vacations and personal time, paid leave plus a budget for your CME, and participation in a retirement plan. Student loan repayment is also available!

The town of Colebrook is a peaceful outdoor paradise in northern New Hampshire. Here, the cultural emphasis is on family, independence and hard work. This community of about 2200 has a historic downtown, and a history of agriculture and wood products. These days, tourism is a driving force as recreational vacationers are attracted to the four-season scenery and activities including unlimited trails for hiking or mountain biking, camping, kayaking and canoeing, horseback riding, golf, fishing and hunting, and snowmobiling and skiing (choose among several popular ski resorts). You will appreciate clean, friendly, small-town living in a region that attracts people who want a beautiful place to live, work and play. Local schools earn awards for quality and a high degree of parental involvement. Housing costs are reasonable, with many physicians purchasing homes with substantial amounts of land (10-100 acres) granting magnificent mountain views. New Hampshire is a financially attractive state with no sales tax and no income tax. Shopping and entertainment are limited locally, but available in nearby towns. Colebrook offers reasonable access to larger cities (2 ½ - 3 hours to Montreal, Canada; Manchester, NH; Portland, Maine; Burlington, Vermont; and Boston, MA).
