Downtown Bangor, Maine

We invite a skilled ORTHODONTIST to join the state’s largest FQHC/community health center system in Bangor, on a mission to increase access to exceptional dental care for all members of the community. Practice in a large clinic that supports integration between general dentistry and orthodontics, and between dental care and primary care. This organization seeks to treat the whole person.

Dental Station

You will practice in a spacious, well-appointed facility with a collegial atmosphere and the latest dental technology (Iterro scanner for digital impressions modeling and submissions, CBCT, Pan, and Ceph machine directly within the ortho wing of the clinic, Class IV laser primarily used in orthodigital x-rays, electronic dental records and digital x-rays, CBCT and Cerac).

An on-campus pharmacy provides convenient, immediate access for patients. Join an innovative dental program that believes access to dental care- including orthodontic care - is a right and not a privilege, and was the first on the east coast to employ a Dental Therapist.

A full range of preventive and specialty care services are provided within the clinic including restorative, fixed and removable prosthetics, and urgent/walk-in care. As the clinic’s only Orthodontist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and correcting misaligned teeth. Develop individual treatment plans that include interceptive and comprehensive treatment while collaborating with a part time Periodontist for procedures such as exposure and bracketing. This includes traditional braces and clear aligners (Spark).

Your target is to manage an average of 30 patients/day, supported by 3 assistants and 4 clinical operatories. You have the option to provide walk-in care support too, if desired.

Dental Center

This nonprofit practice operates as an Integrated Medical Home model. They see everyone, regardless of ability to pay, providing services including primary care, addiction treatment and substance abuse, women’s health, podiatry, mental health care and more. Over 900 employees – including 200+ clinical providers – operate 17 practices and program service sites, caring for thousands of people. You will appreciate the engaged leadership, the supportive patients, and an excellent, experienced dental support staff. Become part of a leading primary care provider and teaching center (with family nurse practitioner and pharmacy residency programs). Here, success is measured by assuring the health of the community and patient satisfaction while offering individual personal dignity. This is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
